Ground Turkish Coffee is a finely milled coffee that is specifically prepared to create the traditional and authentic taste of Turkish coffee. It offers a rich, robust flavor with a smooth finish, making it a staple of Middle Eastern coffee culture. Known for its deep aroma and velvety texture, Turkish coffee is a perfect balance of strong and aromatic, enjoyed by coffee enthusiasts around the world.
How to Prepare Turkish Coffee:
- Measure Coffee and Water: Use a small coffee pot (called a cezve) and add one cup of water per serving. Then, add one teaspoon of ground Turkish coffee for each cup. Optionally, you can add sugar to taste (no sugar, medium sugar, or sweet).
- Mix Ingredients: Stir the coffee, water, and sugar well to ensure everything is blended evenly.
- Heat Slowly: Place the cezve on medium-low heat and allow the coffee to slowly heat up. Do not stir again after this point. As the coffee heats, foam will form on top.
- Remove Before Boiling: Just before the coffee begins to boil and foam rises, remove it from the heat. Skim some of the foam and pour it into the serving cup.
- Return to Heat: Place the cezve back on the heat and allow it to heat again. Once more, remove it just before it boils.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pour the coffee into cups and let it settle for a few moments before drinking, allowing the grounds to settle at the bottom.
Turkish coffee is traditionally served with a glass of water and often accompanied by a piece of Turkish delight. Enjoy the unique flavor and cultural experience!
